DAVE ROWNTREE
Dave Rowntree is best known as the drummer with the renowned and innovative band Blur. Formed in 1989, they were
first called Seymour before changing their name when signed to Food Records. Blur have had twenty-six UK top 40 singles
and nine hit albums. The band's songs include Girls & Boys, Parklife, Coffee and TV, Song 2 and There's No Other Way. They
were at the forefront of Britpop and known for their rivalry with Oasis. In 2023, after a hiatus, they sold out Wembley
Stadium twice over. Published on September 9th, No One You Know documents the early days of Blur with photos by Dave
and is edited by Miranda Sawyer. Copies will be sold at this event, which Dave will sign.
In the late nineties, he and Blur, especially with guitarist Alex James, first became involved in the European Space Agency's
Beagle 2 Mars project, with its promotion and writing a signature tune. He has also worked in computer graphics and
animation. Dave's first solo album, Radio Songs, was released in 2023. As a composer, he is responsible for music featured
on a wide range of TV documentaries, from Mo Farah: Race of His Life to Bros: After the Screaming Stops, and drama series',
such as BBC One's The Capture and 2019's War of the Worlds.
ANDREW DUNN
Andrew Dunn is a three-time BAFTA-winning cinematographer for film and TV, including a wide range of genres. In a
career which began in the seventies, his work for the big screen includes The Bodyguard, starring Whitney Houston and
Kevin Costner, L.A. Story, which stars Steve Martin, The Madness of King George, The Lady in the Van, Gosford Park, directed
by Robert Altman, Downton Abbey: A New Era and Bridget Jones's Baby. And for TV, he was the cinematographer for the
harrowing nuclear war film Threads, broadcast in 1984, then the acclaimed drama series Edge of Darkness a year later.
Andrew has said, "“I love filming actors and I love character driven stories, so to my mind the camera also becomes a
character in the story. We are not passive observers; the camera is subjective.” This will be a fascinating insight into the
career of a key figure in the creative industries who shapes the look of many popular onscreen productions.

JOHN SIMM
John Simm is among the UK's leading actors, particularly on television, and is most known for the series' Life on Mars and
Grace, as the lead character, based on Peter James' novels. Doctor Who fans know him for his maniacal portrayal of the
Master in seven episodes of the series, between 2007 to 2017.
John has starred as the police detective Roy Grace in the Brighton-based ITV crime drama since 2021 and early onscreen
appearances include Rumple of the Bailey, The Bill, Cracker and Heartbeat. His first series as a main character was the
acclaimed BBC drama The Lakes, in two series', from 1997 to 1999, written by Jimmy McGovern, as was The Village, which
saw him starring alongside the likes of Maxine Peake. John also prominently appaeared in the first episode of the
renowned writer's Clocking Off, first broadcast 25 years-ago. A regular in its cast, Philip Glenister co-starred with him in the
highly popular series Life on Mars. John played Sam Tyler, a police detective who, after a car accident, ends up in 1973.
State of Play, was a BBC mini-series about corruption in the government, which saw him alongside David Morrissey, Bill
Nighy and Kelly Macdonald.
He is also known for the 1999 coming-of-age film Human Traffic, about relationships within a culture of drugs and
clubbing. Other films include 24 Hour Party People, as the musician Bernard Sumner, and Wonderland, directed by Michael
Winterbottom. For the stage, John's diverse roles have included Hamlet, Scrooge in A Christmas Carol at The Old Vic last
year, Macbeth, and Lenny in Harold Pinter's The Homecoming. He received Best Actor BAFTA nominations for the series'
Exile and for Life on Mars.
As usual with guests, especially actors, John's appearance is subject to work commitments, due to the nature of his career. He is certainly
currently available, though, on the date above.
